The owner of a nightclub down Muditha Street in Anuradhapura was murdered on Saturday night. An unidentified group of individuals had allegedly committed the crime with the use of a sharp object.
According to the police, a group of about 20, with their faces covered, had entered the night club around 11.45 on Saturday night. Three workers at the night club were admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, following the attack.
The victim, Wasantha Soysa, aged 57 – a Karate champion – was a resident of Mudutha street. The Anuradhapura. police added that the assailants had damaged the property at the night club.
Anuradhapura police have launched investigations into the incident.
